The Department of Applied Foreign Languages at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology announces the first selection of the 2026 Pre-Master’s Program (open to all majors).
Are you interested in becoming a professional in business foreign languages? Are you planning to pursue a career as a certified English teacher? This program offers excellent scholarship opportunities for outstanding students.
To encourage continuous academic progression and shorten the time required for degree completion, students are warmly invited to apply for the Pre-Master’s Program.
Eligibility

Four-year undergraduate students who have completed at least 4 semesters

Two-year undergraduate students who have completed at least 1 semester

Important Notes

Applicants must carefully review the “Guidelines for the Pre-Master’s Program” of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology.

Application materials must be submitted to the Department Office of Applied Foreign Languages by 5:00 p.m., June 8, 2026 (Monday). Late submissions will not be accepted.

Selection results are expected to be announced after the departmental affairs meeting at the end of June 2026.

Admitted pre-master students must still apply for and pass either the Master’s Program admission examination or selection process to officially obtain graduate student status.

Credits earned in master-level courses during undergraduate study may be recognized toward master’s degree requirements (excluding thesis credits), provided that the course grade is 70 or above. However, courses already counted toward undergraduate graduation requirements cannot be double-counted for master’s credit transfer.

Scholarship Information
To encourage outstanding students to continue their studies at the university, the following scholarships are available:

Students graduating in the top 5% of their class and admitted to the master’s program at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology may receive up to NT$30,000 (one-time award).

Students admitted as top-ranked candidates who are also admitted to designated national universities:

Admitted to two universities: NT$80,000 per semester (up to NT$320,000 total)

Admitted to one university: NT$50,000 per semester (up to NT$200,000 total)

Outstanding NYUST graduates admitted via selection or entrance examination:

Top 10% (ranked first): NT$50,000 per semester (up to NT$200,000 total)

Top 10%: NT$30,000 per semester (up to NT$120,000 total)

Top 20%: NT$20,000 per semester (up to NT$80,000 total)

Pre-master program students: NT$15,000 per semester (up to NT$60,000 total)

Additional scholarship opportunities are available under the “Dr. Wang Chiu-Hsiung Honorary Doctoral Graduate Excellence Scholarship Guidelines.” Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
