Project Assistant (Conservation and Preservation), Cultural Heritage Project

  • Manage the loan-in and loan-out procedures for the 177 project artifacts and the Underwater Cultural Heritage Resource Center.

  • Assist with exhibition updates and educational outreach activities.
  • Assist in reviewing, updating, compiling, and managing electronic records within the collections management system.
  • Assist with project budget administration, reimbursement processing, and other administrative documentation.

Salary

Salary will be determined in accordance with the University's salary regulations based on academic qualifications.

Qualifications

  1. Applicants must not hold current student status.
  2. A master's degree or above from a domestic or international university recognized by the Ministry of Education is required. Applicants with academic backgrounds in cultural heritage conservation and restoration or related fields are preferred.
  3. Applicants must not fall under any of the disqualifying conditions specified in Article 4 of the Regulations Governing the Employment of Contract Personnel by the Executive Yuan and Its Subordinate Central and Local Government Agencies, including, but not limited to, individuals without Republic of China (Taiwan) nationality or those holding dual nationality where prohibited.
  4. Demonstrated ability in artifact transportation planning, packing and handling, inventory verification, condition assessment, conservation treatment, and documentation management.
  5. Strong technical writing, content organization, and professional documentation skills, with the ability to independently conduct conservation treatments, condition assessments, treatment documentation, and project reporting for artifacts of various materials.
  6. A proactive work attitude, excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, and willingness to travel and work overtime when required by project activities.
  7. Professional English communication skills for collaborating with international consultants and co-principal investigators. Applicants must provide proof of an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 or above, or an equivalent English-language qualification.
  8. Proficiency in official document preparation and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  9. Previous experience in the conservation and preservation of underwater cultural heritage is preferred.
