Position Overview

The Cultural Heritage Project is seeking a full-time Project Assistant to support the management, preservation, and administration of cultural artifacts at the Underwater Cultural Heritage Resource Center.

Administrative Incubation Center, Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture (Taichung, Taiwan)


Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the check-in and check-out procedures for 177 project artifacts and collections housed at the Underwater Cultural Heritage Resource Center.
  • Carrying out scheduled preventive conservation and maintenance of artifacts currently housed at the Center.
  • Conducting regular inventory and collection audits of preserved artifacts.
  • Performing routine management and maintenance of the Center's storage environment and related facilities.
  • Preparing, organizing, and compiling project reports related to:
    • Personnel and artifact access management
    • Preventive conservation
    • Collection inventory
    • Collection storage environment and facility maintenance
  • Handling administrative documentation, including official correspondence and meeting minutes.
  • Assisting with the review, updating, compilation, and management of electronic records in the Collection Management System.
  • Supporting the integration, verification, formatting, and compilation of project reports and deliverables.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Salary

Salary will be determined according to the University's official salary scale.

  • Bachelor's Degree: Approximately NT$36,300 per month
  • Master's Degree: Approximately NT$41,500 per month

Benefits

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must not currently hold student status.
  2. Hold a bachelor's degree or above from a university recognized by Taiwan's Ministry of Education. Applicants with academic backgrounds in culture, history, arts, museum studies, cultural artifacts, historic preservation, conservation, or cultural heritage are preferred.
  3. Must satisfy the eligibility requirements under Article 4 of the Regulations Governing the Employment of Contract Personnel by Executive Yuan Agencies, including holding Republic of China (Taiwan) nationality and not possessing disqualifying dual nationality.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to independently perform:
    • Preventive conservation of cultural artifacts
    • Collection inventory and inspection
    • Environmental and facility inspections
    • Documentation and reporting
    • Photographic documentation
    • Data organization and compilation
  5. Possess experience or capability in:
    • Artifact accession and loan management
    • Collection handover and inventory verification
    • Condition assessment
    • Documentation and record keeping
    • Image documentation
    • Database management
    • Cross-unit communication and coordination
  6. Demonstrate enthusiasm for work, strong interpersonal communication skills, teamwork, and the flexibility to travel and work overtime when required by project needs.
  7. Possess official document writing skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
