2026 “i-Aesthetics Exhibition” — Order Within Form and Circle

YunTech Department of Creative Design Presents a Multi-Disciplinary Student Exhibition

Design is a process of seeking balance between order and transformation. The Department of Creative Design at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) is hosting the “2026 i-Aesthetics Exhibition — Order Within Form and Circle” from June 10 to June 16 at the Design Building III. The exhibition showcases a wide range of student works developed through coursework, spanning visual branding, product craftsmanship, and spatial design, demonstrating the extension and application of creativity across multiple design domains.

The exhibition concept, “Order Within Form and Circle,” centers on the dialogue between “square” and “circle,” symbolizing the interplay between rational structure and emotional expression in design. Within established frameworks, students are encouraged to explore innovation and expansion, allowing their works to develop diverse interpretations under a unified system. The exhibition as a whole forms an organic structure—appearing orderly and coherent from a distance, yet revealing rich and independent design languages upon closer inspection.

Through design research and practice-based courses, students are guided to observe everyday life and transform their insights into creative and functional design outcomes. This exhibition not only presents the learning achievements of the semester but also highlights how design can generate possibilities within constraints while responding to diverse contemporary needs. By presenting their final works in a shared exhibition space, students engage in dialogue with one another, allowing each piece to find its place within the collective while maintaining its individuality and expressive freedom.

Department Chair Hsiu-Ching Hsieh noted that the “i-Aesthetics Exhibition” was first launched in 2024, and this year marks its third edition. The “i” represents idea, innovation, and AI, reflecting creativity, innovation, and the integration of artificial intelligence as a contemporary driving force in design thinking. The exhibition provides a platform for mutual learning and creative exchange. Curated by Assistant Professor Yi-Pin Lin together with faculty members, the exhibition is integrated into the exhibition design practice course for third-year students, who collectively organize the event and curate selected course works, showcasing the department’s teaching and learning process.
