1. Campus Access Control

(1) External Visitors

I am a local community resident. May I use the University’s sports facilities?

Yes. Our outdoor sports facilities are open to community members. However, academic activities take priority during class hours to avoid disrupting teaching.

Use of the tennis courts, indoor gymnasium courts, and swimming pool requires a usage permit. For details, please contact the Physical Education Office.

When entering campus, please help us maintain cleanliness, quietness, and order. We warmly welcome you to enjoy recreational sports at our University.

I am a member of the general public (or an alumnus). May I visit the Library to consult materials?

Yes. Library resources are available to community residents and external visitors. A borrowing card or reading pass is required.

To apply for a borrowing card or reading pass, and to inquire whether specific books, media, or materials are available for loan, please bring valid identification to the Library Service Desk.

When entering campus, please follow traffic regulations and park vehicles only in designated areas. Do not park illegally.

I am a journalist (or a distinguished guest) and would like to visit the President. Do you have a scheduled appointment with the President?

Appointment confirmed:
Please wait a moment while we notify the Office of the President to receive you.

President available:
The Office of the President is located on the 2nd floor of the Administrative Building straight ahead. Staff will guide and assist you upon arrival.

President unavailable:
The President is currently out of the office (or in a meeting) and unable to meet. We recommend scheduling a visit in advance next time to ensure a proper reception. We look forward to welcoming you again.

I am a member of the public passing by. May I enter the campus for a visit?

You are welcome to visit. However, during class and office hours, please refrain from entering administrative areas and academic buildings so as not to disturb faculty, staff, and students.

Here is a campus map for your reference. Motorcycles are not permitted inside the campus. Visitors driving cars must present valid identification to obtain a temporary entry permit. Please park only in designated areas and observe all traffic safety regulations.

I am a contractor and need to visit (or conduct work at) the XX Department/Building.

Please park your vehicle in the temporary parking area on the right and present valid identification to obtain a temporary entry permit.

Here are the campus map and the visitor return slip. Before leaving, please ask the hosting unit’s staff member (or the project supervisor) to sign the slip. You may retrieve your deposited ID upon departure.

Please follow campus traffic regulations and park only in designated spaces.

(2) Vehicle Pass Application

I am a contractor who frequently enters the campus. How can I purchase a vehicle pass?

You may obtain a Vehicle Pass Application Form from the General Affairs Office (General Services Section or Maintenance Section). Forms are also available at the Main Gate Guard Station.

Please complete the form carefully, attach a photocopy of your vehicle registration, and pay the fee at the Cashier Section. After payment, present the receipt to the General Services Section to receive your vehicle pass.

The annual fee for a vehicle pass is NT$1,000. Please affix the pass to the upper-left corner of your windshield for identification by the Campus Security Team.

(3) Contractors

I am a staff member of the XX Department. A contractor is arriving soon for a visit (or project). May they be allowed in?

Certainly. We will assist the contractor with ID exchange and direct them to your department. Please also remind the contractor to park only in designated areas and avoid illegal parking.

If the contractor enters the campus frequently, you may advise them to obtain a “Contractor Vehicle Pass Application Form” from the Main Gate Guard Station and purchase a vehicle pass from the Cashier Section for convenient campus access.

2. Campus Safety

I am a faculty member (or student). How can I contact campus security for assistance?

The University has three security stations staffed 24 hours a day. Campus extension numbers are:

Main Gate Security Station: 2471, 2472
Longtan West Security Station: 2474
Longtan East Security Station: 2475
Dormitory Security Station: 3311

You may also dial the Security Team’s direct line: 05-5312099, or the Captain’s Office: 2099. We are always here to assist you.

I am a faculty member, staff member, or student and wish to report a theft. What should I do?

You may report the incident directly or by phone to the Main Gate Security Station. Please provide details regarding the people, time, location, and circumstances involved. Security officers will assist you according to the situation.

The Security Team will determine whether it is necessary to contact the on-duty military instructor, department head, local police station, or investigative authorities. Relevant administrative units and supervisors will also be notified to help provide support and follow-up.

The Security Team maintains a surveillance system. Video footage may be reviewed upon request by law enforcement or the parties involved. Footage is retained for up to one month.

I am a faculty or staff member or student. How do I contact campus security at night?

The Security Team operates around the clock. If you require assistance during nighttime hours, please contact any security station via their 24-hour telephone lines.

Night service bells are also available at the Main Gate and Longtan West Security Stations. Press the bell and an on-duty security officer will assist you.

3. Additional Services

I need transportation to the train station. May I ask for help calling a taxi?

During class and office hours, the University shuttle bus operates between campus and Douliu Railway Station. Shuttle schedules are available at the Guard Stations and you may check whether a suitable departure time is available.

If you are in a hurry, we can immediately contact a taxi company to dispatch a vehicle for you. Please take a seat while we make the call.

I am a faculty member (or student). What should I do if my car or bicycle tires are low on air?

Electric air compressors are available at the Main Gate and Longtan West Security Stations for inflating tires on all types of vehicles. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to use this service.

If your tire is punctured, the Security Team can help you contact a repair service to provide on-site assistance.
