Youth Green Talent—Starting Now
Applications Open for the 115th Environmental Ministry Net-Zero Green Talent Training Program
To achieve the 2050 Net-Zero Emissions goal, it is essential for domestic enterprises to conduct comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, accurately identify emission levels, and explore opportunities for reduction in order to formulate effective mitigation strategies. Promoting carbon inventory and emission-reduction capabilities among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will help establish green supply chains and enhance Taiwan’s competitiveness in its net-zero transition.
To support this transformation, government agencies assist enterprises through guidance and professional training programs, strengthening SMEs’ knowledge and practical skills in carbon accounting and emission reduction.
According to the “Green Talent Employment Trends Report for the Second Half of 2025” released by the Ministry of Environment, Taiwan’s shortage of green-collar professionals is approaching 30,000, nearly four times that of eight years ago. In response, the National Environmental Research Academy has established training centers in the north, central, south, and east regions of Taiwan to jointly promote net-zero green talent development.
The Central Taiwan Training Center, led by National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) as the alliance hub, collaborates with the following institutions:
National Chung Hsing University, Feng Chia University, National Taichung University of Education, Dayeh University, Tunghai University, National Chi Nan University, National United University, and China Medical University.
Together, these institutions offer the “Ministry of Environment Net-Zero Green Talent Training Program,” comprising 48 instructional hours. Participants who meet the required attendance and pass the assessment will receive an official Certificate of Qualification issued by the Ministry of Environment.
