NSTC Announces Call for Concept Proposals for the 2026 (Year 115) “Core Computing Resources Project” — Applications Now Open

The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) is now accepting concept proposals for the 2026 “Core Computing Resources Project.” Relevant information is provided below:


1.

To enhance scientific research computing infrastructure, the NSTC Department of Natural Sciences is publicly soliciting concept proposals for this project.
Institutions are advised to use their computer information center or an equivalent unit as the basis for system integration.
Principal investigators must carefully review the full call for proposals before submission.


2. Application Method

Applicants must apply online via the NSTC system under:
“Research Projects → Concept Proposal Category → Core Computing Resources.”

Concept proposals that pass the review and receive recommendation will be invited to submit a full project proposal.
The project is expected to begin on May 1, 2026, subject to NSTC’s final approval date.


3. Evaluation Focus Areas

(1) Equipment Level:

High-performance computing systems, storage and backup solutions, network architecture.

(2) Software Level:

Information security control, software licensing and maintenance, access and connectivity services.

(3) User Level:

User service strategy, integration of user-purchased hardware.

(4) Resource Level:

Institutional support and corresponding implementation plans.

(5) Operational Level:

Pricing and fee structure, sustainability strategies, and related operational considerations.


4. YunTech Internal Deadline

Applications must be submitted to the university by February 4, 2026 (Wednesday).
