Yuntech Hosts 2026 International Student Career Fair, Building a New Platform for Global Talent Development

To help international students better understand Taiwan’s employment environment and expand their career opportunities, the Office of International Affairs at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yuntech) held the “2026 International Student Career Fair” on June 3, 2026.

Centered on the theme “Future Career Station: Building Your Career Blueprint,” the event invited multiple companies and partner organizations to the campus. Through corporate presentations, recruitment booths, labor law briefings, and alumni sharing sessions, the fair aimed to help international students gain a clearer understanding of employment opportunities in Taiwan and their future career pathways.

The event attracted active participation from international students, with nearly one hundred attendees. The venue was filled with lively interaction, and students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage directly with employers.

Opening Ceremony and Remarks

The fair was held at the second-floor conference room of the Office of International Affairs. The opening ceremony began with remarks from Dean of Research and Development, Prof. Li Hung-Jen, who encouraged international students to seize the opportunity to interact with companies and actively explore their future career directions.

This was followed by a welcome address from Dean of International Affairs, Prof. Yeh Hui-Ching, who warmly welcomed participating companies to the campus and encouraged students to transform their academic training and cross-cultural experiences at Yuntech into valuable strengths for entering the Taiwanese job market.

Diverse Industry Participation and Career Opportunities

The event featured corporate presentations, on-site interviews, booth-based consultations, labor regulations briefing (including Taiwan’s points-based work permit system), and sharing sessions by Yuntech international alumni who have successfully remained and worked in Taiwan.

Participating organizations represented a wide range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, agricultural biotechnology, food, services, and cultural promotion. Companies included Universal Scientific Industrial Co., Ltd. (USI), Hung Fu Ecological Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co., Ltd., President Chain Store Corporation (7-Eleven Taiwan), Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (Humanistic Education Foundation), Taiwank Industrial Co., Ltd., Ty-Tech Electronics Co., Ltd., Fubia Co., Ltd., SICHUAN (BVI) Co., Taiwan Branch Office, and ASE Kaohsiung Plant, among others.

These organizations provided students with diverse insights into industry development and career exploration opportunities.

Strong Industry Support and On-Site Recruitment Success

Participating companies expressed strong support for the event. Representatives from ASE Kaohsiung Plant and USI noted that they were recruiting for positions such as equipment and process engineers and received a large number of applications from international students during the fair. They recognized the strong potential of Yuntech’s international talent pool and expressed interest in continued collaboration with the university to provide high-quality employment opportunities and benefits for international graduates.

Notably, the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (Humanistic Education Foundation) offered nine job openings and conducted on-site recruitment, successfully hiring outstanding students from countries including Vietnam. The outcomes of the event were highly productive.

Career Exploration and Support Services

In the morning sessions, companies introduced their organizational profiles, talent requirements, and available positions, enabling students to quickly understand industry trends and career directions.

Following the presentations, students actively visited company booths for consultations. The atmosphere was highly interactive, with many students inquiring about internships, full-time positions, job responsibilities, and opportunities for remaining in Taiwan after graduation.

In the afternoon, a dedicated briefing session on labor regulations was held to help international students understand work permits, post-graduation employment regulations, and application procedures, reducing information barriers during their job search process.

Additionally, Yuntech international alumni shared their work experiences in Taiwan, offering current students practical insights into the transition from academic study to professional employment.

Diverse Student Participation

The event attracted students from a wide range of nationalities, including approximately 25 students from Pakistan, 16 from Indonesia, 14 from Vietnam, and 10 from Iran.

In terms of academic background, participants primarily came from the Department of Business Administration (approx. 22 students), Graduate Institute of Engineering Technology (13 students), International Graduate Institute of Artificial Intelligence Management (12 students), Department of Information Management (7 students), and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (6 students).

This diversity highlights the broad talent spectrum of Yuntech’s international student community across management, engineering, artificial intelligence, and information technology fields.

Strengthening Career Pathways for International Students

The Office of International Affairs emphasized that, in addition to academic learning, international students are highly concerned about post-graduation career planning. However, challenges such as job information accessibility, legal understanding, corporate culture adaptation, and resume preparation often create barriers to entering the Taiwanese job market.

Therefore, this career fair not only served as a platform for interaction between students and employers but also aimed to help students understand the workplace, establish career direction, and build confidence in their job-seeking process.

Vision for International Talent Development

Dean of International Affairs, Prof. Yeh Hui-Ching, stated that education is a transformative journey, and when extended internationally, it can bring new vitality to Taiwanese industries facing challenges such as a declining birthrate.

This semester, the Office of International Affairs has invited international students to act as ambassadors for Yuntech’s global branding efforts. Through social media and university-organized activities, students share their experiences and stories, helping to promote Yuntech’s educational impact worldwide.

She further noted that the Office of International Affairs submitted the “International Student Employment Program in Taiwan” proposal to the Ministry of Education in April. The career fair is an important step in advancing this initiative. In addition to this event, the office plans to organize company visits in July, continuously integrating industry resources and career opportunities to help international graduates successfully transition into the Taiwanese workforce and contribute their talents to local industries.
