Rising Demand for AI-Era Talent: YunTech Partners with Southern Taiwan Science Park to Launch Career Pathways for Young Professionals

As demand for technology talent continues to surge in the age of artificial intelligence, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) hosted the “2026 Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) Technology Talent Forum: Dialogue on the Semiconductor and Technology Industries in the AI Era” on March 18. The forum brought together representatives from academia, industry, and government to explore trends in the technology sector and evolving workforce needs.

The event was jointly organized by YunTech’s Office of Industry–Academia Collaboration, the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau of the National Science and Technology Council, and the Southern Taiwan Science Park Industry–Academia Association. Senior executives from leading companies—including ASE Technology, JPLaser, and Merck Taiwan—were invited to share industry insights. The forum was held alongside an on-campus recruitment event featuring 11 STSP-based companies, providing students with valuable opportunities for direct engagement.

Opening Remarks

The forum commenced with opening remarks by Vice President Chang Cen-Yao of Industry–Academia Collaboration at YunTech, Deputy Director Lin Hsiu-Chen of the STSP Bureau, and Deputy Secretary-General Liu Yen-Chen of the STSP Industry–Academia Association (Distinguished Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University).

Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration

The Southern Taiwan Science Park is one of Taiwan’s most important high-tech clusters, encompassing industries such as semiconductors, precision manufacturing, biotechnology, and smart technologies. By fostering close collaboration with universities, the park aims to attract and cultivate young talent for the continued advancement of the technology sector.

Vice President Chang noted that rapid developments in AI, semiconductors, and smart manufacturing have significantly increased demand for professionals with interdisciplinary integration and innovation capabilities. YunTech has long established strong partnerships with technology companies through its industry–academia collaboration platform, promoting initiatives such as internships, joint research, and campus forums. These efforts enable students to gain early exposure to industry practices and emerging trends while still in school.

Campus Recruitment and Career Opportunities

The event also featured a Spring Recruitment Zone with participation from 11 STSP enterprises. Through recruitment activities and interactive exchanges, students gained deeper insights into the STSP ecosystem and career opportunities within the technology industry. The event attracted enthusiastic participation, with the venue filled to capacity and a vibrant atmosphere throughout.

Looking ahead, YunTech will continue to strengthen collaboration with the Southern Taiwan Science Park and leading technology enterprises. Through forums, joint research projects, internships, and talent development programs, the University aims to build a comprehensive platform integrating academia, industry, government, and research. These efforts will support students in transitioning smoothly from campus to career, while contributing to innovation and sustainable development in Taiwan’s technology sector.
