YunTech Emphasizes Career Education: Invites 104 Talent Sustainability Officer Wen-Xiong Zhong to Share Job-Seeking Strategies

On December 10, 2025, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) hosted a senior-year student assembly lecture, inviting Wen-Xiong Zhong, Vice President of 104 Information Technology and Talent Sustainability Officer, to speak on “Finding the Right Direction, Writing a Strong Resume, and Preparing for Interviews.” He shared insights on current employment trends, industry changes, and practical tips for resume writing and interview preparation, helping soon-to-graduate students enhance their job market competitiveness.

Talent Sustainability Officer Zhong emphasized that the first step in job hunting is “confirming the target position before preparation.” He noted that resumes and personal statements are not essays but serve as a “personal advertisement and user manual,” designed for employers to quickly grasp candidates’ strengths within the average 140-second review time.

Job seekers are encouraged to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to assist with preparation, including:

  • Identifying personal talents and suitable industry roles

  • Analyzing key competencies required for job openings

  • Producing tailor-made resumes and personal statements

  • Practicing answers to likely interview questions

  • Organizing responses and improving logical expression

Regarding interview skills, Zhong advised students to “do homework, practice continuously, and interact sincerely,” and introduced the “Five Don’ts” to avoid common mistakes:

  1. Do not be absent

  2. Do not leave blanks

  3. Do not dress inappropriately

  4. Do not be late

  5. Do not exaggerate

He also demonstrated interview attire and grooming tips, and recommended five post-interview actions:

  • Send a thank-you note

  • Supplement any missing information

  • Record interview questions

  • Review strengths and weaknesses

  • Refine and reorganize responses

The lecture concluded with an introduction to the 104 Career Academy TOP Job Hunting Program and online self-learning resources, offering courses on resume writing, interview skills, and more, providing students with flexible platforms to enhance job-seeking skills and gain opportunities for corporate interviews.

The session was well-received, with students actively participating. YunTech stated that the university will continue collaborating with industry through guest lectures, career courses, and internship platforms to help students bridge the gap between study and work, preparing them to enter the workforce with strong practical capabilities.
