This concert offers a renewed interpretation of the history of Mandopop through the lens of female composers.
Throughout the development of Chinese-language music, women creators have contributed with both resilience and quiet strength, working behind the scenes across pop music, film and television soundtracks, and cross-disciplinary collaborations—leaving behind melodies that have accompanied generations of listeners.
This program places special focus on the works of four cross-generational female composers—Shen Zhi, Chen Jiali, Chen Yuzhen, and Ding Xiaowen.
Through guided listening and musical storytelling, audiences are invited to step into their creative worlds, experience the life journeys expressed through their compositions, and appreciate the cultural and historical resonance embodied in their music.
The concert presents an alternative perspective on Chinese-language music—one that reflects a gentle yet powerful artistic voice.
We warmly invite you to join us on May 9 and experience the warmth and brilliance of “Taiwan Vowels.”
