National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) was established in 1991 with the motto “Integrity, Reverence, and Innovation.” Since its founding, the university has adhered to a pragmatic and applied educational philosophy. By leveraging its strengths in industry-academia collaboration and innovative teaching methods, YunTech has developed a distinctive approach characterized by “integrated industry-academia education and innovative design.” Beginning in 2018, with funding from the Ministry of Education's “Higher Education Deepening Plan,” YunTech further developed a dual-track learning system. This system provides students with an environment for personalized development and practical learning while advancing a problem-based learning (PBL) system aligned with industry needs. The goal is to cultivate talent through personalized development and high-quality employment. Building upon past achievements, starting in 2025, YunTech's development vision is “to become a responsible smart university through technological R&D and innovative services.” This vision is guided by four pillars: “Diversifying Learning: Utilizing smart technologies to develop customized learning pathways and precision employment guidance,” “Agile Decision-Making: Enhancing decision efficiency to swiftly respond to higher education demands and academic transformations,” and “International Branding: Attracting outstanding international talent to elevate YunTech's visibility.” This strategy aims for excellence across four dimensions: student cultivation, faculty development, university contribution, and international influence.
