The Best Creativity! YunTech won 5 awards on Red Dot Award

YunTech has been ranked top one university in terms of total sore in Nationwide Skill Competition based on the vocational school for successive six years.

Department of Design won five awards on Red Dot Design Award this year again. Red Dot Design Award is one of the significant international design competitions. It’s kind of Oscar Academy Award in design field, so every designer generallywishes to participate in the contest. Up to date, our professors and students have won two Communication Design Awards and three Design Concept Awards which will be elaborated in the follows. 


Busy people in the cities learn a lesson from an animated short “Small house”. 

The animated short “Small house” made by Jing-Yi Qiu and Wei-Cheng Ceng, Department of Design won the Communication Design Awards. The main characters are a camera and a light bulb. The film is about the butterflies and moths persuade what they want in nostalgic atmosphere and lead to a bad result. The film reflects the people in the cities have a busy life and ignore what they have nearby and result in a regretful conclusion. The story expresses simple and clearly message to people.


The animated short “The little kids and a big world” express children’s simple world.

The animated short “The little kids and a big world” made by Xiang-Pu Zhu and Jing-Zhi Lin won the Communication Design Award as well. The film is full of children’s imagination and passion.  I the film, there is a painting drawn by more than one hundred students and the film displays students’ imagination. 


“Easy Drink” is a design for water resources saving.

“Easy Drink” made by Xiang-Min Xu, Nai-Wen Liu and You-Xin Chen obtained a prize for Design Concept Award.  The concept of which is that water will not be dropping when you fill in the water, and you do not have to raise your head up which you are drinking. Therefore, Easy Drink is designed as a bevel opening bottle with the purpose of saving water resource.
 
 
“Cross Chair” is to challenge the limit of formation and mechanism.“Cross Chair” made by Meng-Rong Wu and Jia-Jun Wu won a prize for Design Concept Award. The characteristic is the special shape of the chair which does not need extra ribs but have enough support. The chair is unibody with simple and clear shape without any complicated ribs. “Book Trolley”

“Book Trolley” is a design of the trolley at the library. The work made by Yi-An Chen and Yu-Sheng Lai, Department of Industrial Design won a prize for Design Concept Award. The purpose of the work is to solve the problem of narrow aisles at library, so it is consisted of three book boxes. The libertarians only need to remove the book boxes which are full of books, connect three boxes to make as a trolley and move them away straight away. The libertarians can also collect the books nearby on a trolley in accordance with the call numbers or just carry a box and walk on a narrow aisle. The book trolley is designed as a book shelf; therefore, the readers can put the books any time when the self is available.

YunTech has been ranked the top one in the Vocational Award for consecutive 6 years. All professors and students have put their efforts into industrial design, building and interior design, visual communication design, digital media design and creative lifestyle design. Thus, YunTech is one of the top universities in Taiwan in relations to participating in international and nationwide design contests.  At present, the students graduated from YunTech have higher competitiveness by comparison; the business people in Taiwan and Mainland China like to hire them.  YunTech performed well in Red Dot Design Award Contest and achieved honors as well.
