 College of Humanities and Applied Sciences-Research Center

Department and Task

The 「Taiwan SPIN Research Center (TSRC)」of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology was established in October 2003, which cooperated with National Chung-Cheng University and National Changhua University of Education and united as the Taiwan Spin Phenomena Integrated Nanotechnology Research Center (Taiwan SPIN Research Center). The director of the center is Professor Te-ho Wu, who is the dean of College of Humanities and Applied Science. Combining with the resource of Graduate Schools of materials science and other related departments of College of Engineering, TSRC keeps working on the advanced technologies of spintronics and nano-fabrication process.

The main goals of TSRC include the studying of spin-dependent phenomenon, nano-technologies, and fundamental physics behind them; meanwhile, training the experts in the realm of spintronics for future industry development needed. TSRC is expected to be the worldwide studying center in spintronics and promote the international reputation for Taiwan in spintronics-related realm.

TSRC focuses on the following research topics:
1) high density but low power consumption MRAM;
2.) frontier spintronic devices;
3.) advanced magnetic materials;
4.) micro-electronic materials and thin-film fabrication processes.

Now TSRC has close relationships and cooperation with worldwide institutes and enterprises. The services provided by TSRC includes technical consultation, project development, training and other technology services and evaluations.
