The Javelin Throw Master Breaks the Record Again

The Track and Field Competition of National Intercollegiate Athletic Games 2014 commenced on in the morning of May 18th. Huang, Yu-Hsiu from Department of Fire Science, Central Police University made a great coup with outstanding result of 44.55m. Then Ke Qi-Shan from Department of Logistics Management, National Defense University, followed Huang with a throw result of 42.23m, and broke the event record of 42.14m.

Normally, Huang participates in the 100 metres hurdles event. She was the Gold Medalist of the Heptathlon event in Taichung City. She began her Javelin throw training when she was a junior, and won Gold on Womens Javelin of her universitys athletic games last year.

With much attention, Ke has diligently practiced since junior high school. In addition to practicing her throwing technique, she also takes on weight training. Ke and Huang were competing against each other one month ago during the 2014 National Universities Athletics Open. Ke beat Huang with a result of 43.48m,  winning Gold and Silver titles respectively. Ke is pleasantly surprised by this outcome of defeating her former competitor. She thought she could gain higher points due to her precise gesture and angles. Ke said she will encourage herself and keep practicing hard.

For the Pole Vault event, Ye, Jiang-Chen from Department of Applied Foreign Languages, Nan Kai University of Technology, broke the event record by 3.04m. Her talent was discovered by her Physical Education teacher. Now she makes her great mark with a jump of 3m on this open competition. She humbly stated that she will break her own record and continues to challenge her abilities.
