Hsin-Yen Wang from NCTU breaking the record in heavy rain

Due to the rain, the second day of National Intercollegiate Athletic Games was a challenge for athletes. Despite the heavy rain, athletes’spirits were not dampened and they were determined to break the records. This morning, Hsin-Yen Wang from NCTU broke the 2006 record of 10.71 for the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.68. Now he is the new record keeper.

Prior to the competition, Hsin-Yen Wang said he was in good condition and his friends and coach had very high expectations of him. In the past few years, he has also won many championships. He has been participating in the race for the past six years. He was quite confident that he could break the record this year. He jokes that the main goal for him to pursue his Master’s degree is to get the chance to join the race so he can break the record. He is overjoyed that he can set the new record for the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games. He is content that the competition turned out to be a happy ending.
