Description:

YunTech has a campus area of 58 hectares, since the founding of the School in 1989, an overall campus plan has been designed and completed along with continuous improvement projects to optimize various infrastructures. In terms of transportation construction, traffic lanes, footpaths, bike lanes and traffic signals have been installed, and open space parking area has been adopted to meet the needs of campus specifications and usage requirements. By utilizing on campus and non-campus bus services, promoting carpooling, and adopting green transportation (such as cycling), we have effectively reduced the number the parking spaces located on campus pathways and around surrounding buildings from 1,220 to 976 spaces. With such a significant reduction rate of 20%, this improvement plan is proven to be effective and will be used continuously in the future to further reduce the number of parking spaces.

In order to create a green, energy-saving, and low-carbon environment, apart from coordinating with bus service providers to install bus stop at the campus entrance, YunTech provides transportation services between campuses and other public transport locations, shuttle services on campus are also provided to allow teachers and students to travel between campus and Douliu Train Station. The shuttle service is available 32 rides per week, which consists of 6 rides per day on Mondays to Thursdays and 8 rides on Fridays, and at a cost of $10 per ride. A total of 996 rides have been provided from January 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017. The shuttle service is expected to remain in service in the future, and may expand timely according to usage demands and vehicle availability.

Description:

YunTech has a campus area of 58 hectares and the overall campus planning is comprehensive and sophisticated. In order to create a green, energy-saving and low-carbon environment and to promote the use of bike lanes and footpaths, a total of 4,200 bike stations were incorporated in the preliminary campus design plan, which have been installed around the main campus roads and buildings. In response to promoting a green campus environment and to meet the demands of teacher and student usage, the number of bike stations has been increased to 6,320 (an increase of 50.47%). It is apparent that the promotion of utilizing green transportation vehicles (ex. Bikes) has been effective. We aim to continue the promotion of relevant improvement measures in the future and increase the number of bicycle stations accordingly.
