
25 Years of Working on Teaching and Research, YunTech Makes Itself a Paradigm University! |

To celebrate YunTech’s
25th birthday, a series of activities, such as a fair, student clubs
exhibition, organic food farmers market, idesign market for YunTech students
and alumni, and a “one-day college student activity” for high school students
were held from November 25th to November 28th in the year
of 2015. The topic “25 Years of Working on Teaching and Research, YunTech Makes
Itself a Paradigm University!” was chosen as the main concept of YunTech’s 25th
birthday. It is hoped that by being led by President Hou Chun-kan, YunTech can
become an even more internationally famous and top university and be able to
meet any kinds of challenges with its creativity.
Under the leaderships of
the past presidents and President Hou, YunTech has become a flagship technical
university in Taiwan with its years of hard work on industry-academia
cooperation and design power. YunTech focuses both on practice and theory through
the efforts of its 4 different colleges, namely, the colleges of Engineering,
Management, Design and Humanities and Applied Sciences. The university’s student
population is approximately 10,000 and its alumni population is near 43,000.
YunTech’s outstanding performances
and achievements are listed below:
1. All the 7 departments
and 1 graduated school of the College of Engineering are accredited by the Institute
of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET). The College of Management is accredited
by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and Accreditation
of Chinese Collegiate School of Business (ACCSB).
2. For the “Subsidy Directions for Developing
Technological University Paradigms,” YunTech received funding valued at NT$12,300,000.
3. In the category of the
MOE Teaching Excellence Project, YunTech has been ranked the highest among all
technological universities in Taiwan for the 10th consecutive year.
4. YunTech was granted the
“Energy Saving Award” and “Excellent Award” by the Ministry of Economic Affairs
(R.O.C.).
5. YunTech was ranked 74th
among the top 100 universities across the Taiwan Strait according to a survey
released by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
6. YunTech was ranked 7th
among other universities in the Asia area by Red Dot Award in 2015.
7. YunTech’s faculty
members and students have won 55 gold medals, 50 silver, 23 bronze and 24
special awards at various national and international competitions, showcasing
their world-class competitiveness. |
