To encourage students to participate in the Empowerment English Proficiency Test and enhance EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) learning outcomes, the University has implemented the following incentive program. Applications are now open and will be accepted until July 24. Funding is limited and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
I. Incentive Program Details
- Purpose
These guidelines are established to encourage NYUST students to take the Empowerment English Proficiency Test and to strengthen their English proficiency in support of EMI learning. - Eligibility
Current domestic students of the University who pass the Empowerment English Proficiency Test are eligible. Each student may receive the incentive once only. - Incentive Criteria
- Students who achieve CEFR B2 level in Listening and Reading will receive NT$2,000.
- Students who achieve CEFR B2 level in Speaking and Writing will receive NT$2,000.

- Application Period
Applicants must submit their applications to the Center for Teaching Excellence by July 24, 2026.
Eligible test results must be obtained between June 15 and June 30 of the academic year (including the following semester). - Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:- Completed application form (Appendix 2)
- Original and photocopy of the test certificate or score report (original will be returned after verification)
- Photocopy of student ID
- Photocopy of the front page of the applicant’s bank or postal savings account passbook
- Ineligibility Conditions
Applications will not be accepted under the following circumstances:- The applicant has already received this incentive for the same test
- The application is submitted after the deadline
- Funding Source
This incentive is funded by the Ministry of Education’s Bilingual Education Program for Higher Education. Adjustments may be made if funding is insufficient. - Implementation
These guidelines take effect upon approval by the Academic Affairs Meeting. The same procedure applies to any future amendments.
