YunTech International Office Hosts Graduation Party

International Students Celebrate Together on the Eve of Commencement

The Office of International Affairs at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech) hosted the “A Graduation Party” on June 5, 2026, bringing together graduating international students at the second-floor venue of the International Affairs Office. The event provided a warm and memorable occasion for students to reflect on their academic journey, share blessings, and celebrate their final moments at YunTech before graduation.

The theme of this year’s celebration, “404: Students not Found, Graduates Only!”, creatively reimagined a familiar web error message as a humorous metaphor for graduation. It symbolized students logging out of their academic identity and transitioning to the next chapter of life. The visual design—featuring bold red typography, retro textures, and colorful lighting effects—created a festive yet slightly nostalgic atmosphere, reflecting both farewell emotions and anticipation for the future.

The party was held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with a formal dark dress code to add a sense of ceremony to the relaxed gathering. Graduating students were encouraged to bring companions, allowing friends to share this special occasion together. With music, laughter, and lively conversations filling the space, the venue became a warm environment where students could temporarily set aside theses, reports, and administrative tasks, and simply enjoy their time together.

The program included a graduation fashion show, Chinese singing competition, interactive games, and a buffet-style networking session. The fashion show allowed students to express their personal style and confidently present themselves on stage, marking a symbolic step into their next chapter. The Chinese singing competition became one of the most anticipated highlights of the evening, where heartfelt performances, lighthearted imperfections, and courageous attempts turned language learning into a joyful and shared campus memory.

Beyond the stage activities, interactive games and informal dining encouraged meaningful exchanges among students from different departments and countries. While sharing meals, participants reflected on their experiences studying in Taiwan—from initial cultural adjustment and language challenges to academic achievements and friendships formed at YunTech. These shared memories turned the gathering into more than a farewell; it became a moment of mutual appreciation and encouragement.

The Office of International Affairs noted that the experience of international students at YunTech extends beyond academic learning to include cross-cultural interaction, language adaptation, and personal growth. The graduation party was designed not only to celebrate students completing their studies, but also to ensure they feel the university’s care and support at the end of their journey.

Dean of International Affairs Professor Hui-Ching Yeh remarked that graduation represents a significant transition in life, especially for international students who study far from home. She encouraged graduates to carry forward the professional skills, cross-cultural experiences, language abilities, and meaningful friendships gained at YunTech into their next journey. Regardless of where they go in the future, YunTech will remain a place where they once learned, grew, and thrived.

Through this celebration, the International Office aimed to leave graduates with lighthearted, sincere, and joyful memories. As “404: Students not Found” becomes a playful farewell to student life, it also marks the beginning of new stories waiting to be written.
