National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech), in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), held the “2024 NSTC Department of Engineering – Industrial Engineering and Management Division Research Project Achievement Presentation” on November 22, 2025, at the YunTech International Conference Hall.
The event aimed to promote academic exchange, deepen discussion on key issues in the field of industrial engineering and management, and encourage experts from industry, academia, and research institutions to share research outcomes and domestic/ international trends, thereby advancing the application of academic results in industrial practice.
This major event attracted over 200 registrants, and together with YunTech faculty and students from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM), a total of around 250 participants attended.
The morning session began with an opening remark by YunTech Vice President Chang Gen-Hui, followed by a welcoming remark from NSTC Industrial Engineering and Management Division Convener Distinguished Professor Lin Yi-Kuei.
Two keynote speeches were presented:
Keynote 1
President Liao Ching-Jong of Yuan Ze University shared “Reflections on Higher Education,” offering profound insights from an academic perspective.
Keynote 2
Chairperson Chen Mei-Chi of Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd. presented “LCIM Driving New Intelligent Manufacturing in the AI Era,” discussing industrial innovation and smart manufacturing trends.
Both speeches—delivered from academic and industrial viewpoints—received enthusiastic responses and discussions from attending experts and scholars.
Afternoon Session
The afternoon began with the “Industrial Engineering and Management Division Forum,” themed “Sharing Experiences on Outstanding Research and Industry–Academia Collaboration.”
The forum invited NSTC Outstanding Research Award recipients—Distinguished Professor Wu Chien-Wei and Distinguished Professor Chang Kuo-Hao, along with award-winning scholars in industry–academia collaboration—Distinguished Professor Wang Er-Jui and Professor Huang Chien-Yi—to share insights on research achievements and collaborative experiences.
This was followed by the “Industrial Engineering and Management Division Research Planning Presentation,” chaired by Distinguished Professor Lin Yi-Kuei, with reports from the conveners of the five subfields:

Together, they outlined future research directions and priorities.
The event concluded with the annual report and award ceremony.
Distinguished Professor Lin Yi-Kuei presented the “2024 Best Research Poster Award of the Industrial Engineering and Management Division,” bringing the event to a successful close.
This achievement presentation highlighted academic research, industrial applications, and future development strategies.
With rich content and active exchanges, the event successfully promoted collaboration among industry, academia, and research sectors, as well as knowledge sharing.
