About the Center

The "Taiwan Intangible Cultural Heritage Preservation and Revitalization Center" at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology focuses on the dual axes of "preservation" and "revitalization." It is positioned as an integrated platform for research, talent cultivation, and application regarding Taiwan's intangible cultural heritage (ICH), encompassing traditional craftsmanship, folk customs, traditional performing arts, oral traditions, and traditional knowledge and practices.

Integrating field surveys, academic research, cross-disciplinary teaching, and digital technology, the Center has long undertaken commissioned projects from the Ministry of Culture, local government cultural bureaus, and professional institutions. We are dedicated to establishing systematic cultural asset databases, cultivating professional heritage managers equipped with cultural interpretation and marketing management skills, and promoting cultural translation through generative AI and innovative design, thereby fulfilling our University Social Responsibility (USR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Core Business Focus:

1. Research and Systematic Documentation: Deeply cultivating field investigations on traditional craftsmanship and folk customs across various counties and cities, constructing foundational databases, and publishing specialized books and audiovisual archives.
2. Talent Cultivation and Educational Promotion: Assisting in the training and apprenticeship of professionals in Taiwan's intangible cultural heritage to ensure intergenerational transmission.
3. Local Practice and International Linkages: Deepening local community collaboration while promoting exchanges and international cooperation in intangible cultural heritage preservation within the Asia-Pacific region.
